Does the world need to promote the use of renewable energy?
●Investment ●Costs ●Natural resources ●Nuclear energy ●Global warming ●Developing countries
As world population surges dramatically, the limited amount of fossil fuels begin to diminish so it is very apparent and urgent that the world needs to promote the use of renewable energy.
The first point to consider is global warming. Burning of fossil fuels releases carbon dioxide, which is the main aspect of rising temperature. This then results to climate change such as drought, extreme rainfall, flashfloods that threatens health and safety.
Secondly, as fossil fuel reserves are finite, a global shift to renewable energy produced by natural resources is fundamental. Many natural resources, such as moving water, wind and rays of the sun are not at risk of depletion from their use for energy production.
Moreover, with the declining costs of renewable energy, more and more developing countries attain the economic benefits of building a clean energy industry. There are a plenty of natural resources in emerging area. In addition, the productive use of green energy in rural areas also helps raise incomes and improve health, providing power to pump water for irrigation, to process crops and power cottage industries, to light homes, schools, and hospitals.
Considering all the above factors, I believe that supporting renewable power generation should be done immediately. There are many benefits from utilizing eco-friendly energy, ranging from human health to economic growth.
